Upcoming Stat Squish

Upcoming Stat Squish

After some internal discussions within the team, we have decided to implement a "Stat Squish" for the server in our next patch. Stats for player characters, obtainable items, and monsters will be cut by approximately 99%.

The reasoning behind this decision is that the percentage increases in stats that players receive, as well as their raw value increases, are simply too much. We cannot encourage or foster healthy progression when stats are inflating so dramatically, to the point that a simple 10k damage can rise to 100k (this is not a literal 1:1 example).

Critical, Final Damage, and Critical Damage caps will be adjusted accordingly to ensure that we do not revert to 0% on any of these stats. However, expect their percentages to be lower so that we have room for accommodate growth once more, rather than being extremely over the caps.

Certain classes will require adjustments both before and after the release of the "Stat Squish" patch. We aren't perfect, so please understand that balance may be somewhat awry when this squish happens. Once the patch is live, you are welcome to provide constructive feedback as you see fit.

Accompanying the "Stat Squish" patch will be reworks to the Berserker and Unyielding set bonuses. Their stat scalings will be modified to accommodate the stat squish. Berserker will now focus on Critical and Critical Damage, while also providing a higher percentage of Elemental Attack. Unyielding will offer increased HP, some Elemental Resistances, and higher raw damage as well as Final Damage. The HP difference between the two sets has been reduced from approximately doubling your HP in Unyielding to only being about ~20-25% higher, depending on your class.

We also have additional planned content to release, such as Green Dragon Nest (Time Attack), along with a new method to roll extra stats on Rune Dragon armours, including Crit DMG, Elemental %, HP %, and other stats.

Lastly, Nests and Dungeons will undergo a complete overhaul to accommodate the "Stat Squish" patch. Progression gear is being adjusted accordingly, as is End Game gear.

Here's an example picture of what your stats would look like after the patch goes live:

This is the latest information regarding the Stat Squish that we can provide you at this stage of development. Of course, things may be slightly altered before the final patch release.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we develop this patch. If you have any questions, please visit our Discord Server and ask away in the #feedback-discussion channel, as we'd like to maintain transparency about this.
